Earl C. Andersen entered service on May 15, 1942, and joined the 38th Bombardment Group. He was separated from service due to ear problems.
His service was in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during WWII, where he held the rank of Staff Sergeant. He received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
In 1947, he joined the Iowa National Guard and was commissioned. He retired from the Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1979.
