Prisoner of War Kenneth V. Abraham
Kenneth V. Abraham was born on December 15, 1920. He joined Company “M,” 168th Infantry, 34th Division upon graduating from high school. He entered federal service with the unit on February 10, 1941, and served in the European Theatre from 1942 to 1945.
He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with three Bronze Battle Stars, and several other citations.
Kenneth was taken prisoner at Faid Pass, Tunisia, in North Africa. He was held in a prison camp at Capua, Italy, and later at a farm work camp in Northern Germany.
He was discharged from service in 1945. Kenneth retired from Northwestern Bell in 1983 and died on March 21, 1992.
